They’re simple to make, full of sweet and tangy flavor, and perfect for serving warm in a slow cooker. Whether you use frozen meatballs or little smokies (mini sausages), this dish will disappear fast. It only takes 3 ingredients and a few minutes of prep!
Main Ingredients:
1 (32 oz) bag frozen meatballs or 2 (14 oz) packs little smokies
1 cup grape jelly
1 cup barbecue sauce (any kind you like – sweet, smoky, or spicy)
Optional: Add 1–2 tablespoons of chili sauce or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
Directions
- Add to slow cooker: Place the meatballs or little smokies into your slow cooker.
- Make the sauce: In a bowl, stir together grape jelly and barbecue sauce until smooth.
- Combine: Pour the sauce over the meatballs or smokies and stir to coat everything evenly.
- Cook:
Low setting: Cook for 4–6 hours
High setting: Cook for 2–3 hours
Stir once or twice during cooking. - Serve: Keep on “warm” setting for parties, or serve directly from the pot with toothpicks.

- You can also heat this on the stove: simmer in a large saucepan over medium-low heat for about 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
This recipe is super easy to double or triple for larger crowds.
Use turkey meatballs or beef – both work well.

Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3–4 days and can be reheated easily.
